Introducing Tyla, the sensational artist hailed as the XITE Kickstart of March 2024. With a captivating blend of R&B and Pop, infused with the vibrant essence of South African Amapiano, Tyla's music transcends boundaries and captivates audiences worldwide.

About Tyla

Born and raised in Johannesburg, Tyla was immersed in a musically rich environment from a young age. Her parents fostered a home where the sounds of icons like Aaliyah, Boyz II Men, Michael Jackson, Mi Casa, and Rihanna filled the air. As she went about her chores, the rhythms and melodies of these artists became the backdrop against which her own musical aspirations began to take shape.

It was at the age of 12 that Tyla first found herself drawn to the art of songwriting. Armed with nothing but a diary and a vivid imagination, she poured her thoughts and emotions into verses and choruses, laying the foundation for what would later blossom into a promising career.

Tyla's introduction to the international music scene came with the release of her debut single, Getting Late, featuring Kooldrink. With its infectious blend of R&B and Pop, infused with the unmistakable euphoria of South African Amapiano, the song captured the attention of listeners far beyond the borders of her homeland. What began as a personal expression of creativity soon took on a life of its own, as people from around the world embraced the track, creating TikTok videos and spreading its catchy chorus far and wide.

But Tyla's ascent was only just beginning. With subsequent releases like Been Thinking and To Last, released via Epic Records, she showcased her versatility and depth of artistry. Collaborations with fellow rising stars, such as Ayra Starr on Girl Next Door, further cemented her place in the global music landscape.

It was her single Water that truly catapulted Tyla to superstardom. The infectious beat and iconic choreography inspired the 'Water Challenge,' propelling the song to the top of the charts and amassing hundreds of millions of streams in the process.

Tyla's star continued to rise, culminating in a powerhouse performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and earning her a coveted GRAMMY award for Best African Music Performance.
